About the Event

We welcome Inside Out® Community Advisor Marty Davies.

Marty will take us through some remarkable examples of authentic LGBTQIA+ creative work and share where they think the big opportunities are next for brands. As a trans non-binary person who is also Campaign’s first trans columnist, she is uniquely placed to help marketers navigate the fears marketers have about backlash to trans+ representation in our creative work.

What can you expect them to touch upon?

  • A brief history of LGBTQIA+ representation in advertising.
  • What makes up good representation?
  • Why queer creative is brave creative? And brave creativity is powerful.
  • Why brands are currently stalling on representation.
  • Why backlash should not come as a surprise and how to plan for it.
  • The value of creating an inclusive culture within the studio and wider business.

About our speaker

She sits at the intersection between LGBTQIA+ culture, history, rights, the creative industries, and the attention economy.
